It could be great, but if memory serves the Quads are built to behave as point sources, rather than as line sources, so if you double them up it might have a negative effect on imaging. (You then have two point sources per channel.) Of course this academic consideration is rubbish if it sounds great. A long time ago, I used to run two pairs of KLH 9 spkrs (driven by a large Futterman type OTL). This was very impressive but never quite as well-defined as a single pair of KLH 9s could be. Great full ESL bass response, however. But a single pair of M1s beats the KLH 9s in all respects, as they should.
