I don't know the rationale for the speaker positioning, although they are a good 7 ft. or so from the wall. The "sand" amps are Pass X600s driving the UB-1s and Parasound JC1s driving the U-1s (the same pair I auditioned). The preamp on the top of the right hand rack is a CTC Blowtorch. Phono stage is a Gryphon. The turntable is a one of a kind Maplenoll/Walker. The item with the gold faceplate next to the Wadia transport is a Walker motor drive. The moniker Cadmium Chef was suggested by his son after watching the Iron Chef on TV.
