The system sounds excellent. I don't know the maximum SPL they can produce, but let's just say it was satisfying.
The main (curved) speakers are U-1s, to which your post refers. Crossing over to the UB-1s at 180 Hz probably frees up the U-1s a bit and gives a slightly greater sense of ease, since they do not have to reproduce the bottom octaves. I suppose the ultimate (pardon the pun) upgrade would be if he were to biamp the U-1s.
