makes a tremendous difference in the positive direction. The results are so superior to the standard circuit, when one is using a tube amplifier, that I would not consider living with the latter. The mid-bass and mid-range frequencies are dramatically improved. The factory supplies a Hi-Z kit for upgrading any speaker. It's cheap, easy to install, and the instructions are fail-safe for anyone who is smart enough not to grab the wrong end of a hot soldering iron. But if you are not comfortable doing it yourself, the factory will install it for a nominal additional fee, provided you send in your backplates. It's quite possible that the hi-Z kit would also benefit users of ss amplifiers, since it picks up the mid-range impedance but not so high as to make the speaker an awkward load for ss. The Parasound is likely to be a nice amp, since it was designed by John Curl (and others). There are other cost-effective ss amps to think about as well. I am partial to tube amplification in general and OTLs in particular, so I am sticking with my Atma-spheres. Re "high power tube amps", there were recent posts about use of the ASL Hurricane amps to drive M1s. Check the archives.
