After I add a pre-amp to the system, replacing the CDP direct output to the power amp, the A-3 really sings nowadays. The extensions, details, depth, and pace all come up just right. It is just a fantastic listening experience. However, the A-3 really takes a lot of power to drive. My Accuphase power amp's have their power meters in the red positions most of the time I play music. Not surprisingly, the amp's run very hot too. For settings, the bias is @ 1 pm position, treble dial @ 3 pm, and 0's for other settings. Once it is more run in, I may reduce the bias and treble even more. I also make a speaker cover (with zips) for the speaker so that when I am off from home, they can protect the speakers from moisture attack. I leave the plug on all the time despite Dr West's advice that I should take the plug out when not listening because it just takes a long time to fully charge them. I hope they can last a long time.
Next step is to add spikes..
