the good dr. west confirmed my approach via email yesterday, and i was able to do both speakers last night---quite simple really.

though the soundstage is a jumbled mess and the bass isn't back, i can say that one of the changes, either the higher impedance, the new switchcraft binding posts (!), or the new inalways IEC, have made a dramatic difference in inner detail.

i only wasted 4 Rs---all the rest were used (yay!). now, if only i could find a good drop in replacement cap, and some better spades for the speaker wire hooked up to the binding posts.

regardless, i cannot wait until these things burn in...
