I use a Z-Systems Equaliser between my Transport and Dac. I could not do without it now. My listening room is not all that large (14ft 8” x 23ftx 8ft high) and it also doubles up as our lounge so in your face room treatment is a no no, but I use live equivalents to Duke’s Fake Fictus trees in the corners behind the speakers and I have also fitted sound absorbent panels to the side and rear walls behind the speakers that blend in with the room decoration. I would really like to have a 30ft x 20ft x 12ft dedicated listening room but some things just cannot be, so I compromise. An equaliser certainly helps to remove the odd suck out or two.
