Here are my A-1s with an appreciative listener. The room has a Z shape and so there is a very large area behind these filled with books. The room is narrow at the location of the speakers. I toed them in to avoid side reflections and I sit in the near field. My location is about 6 feet away from the wall behind me. Equipment is located to the right of the speakers away from direct radiation. Associated equipment are the ubiquitous Wolcotts, SCD-1, and a transformer based preamp from Bent Audio (switch secondary windings to control volume). Right now I am using interconnects and speaker cable (different than the one shown in the picture) from Richard Gray.
