Matt, you are probably right. I have thought that I could get some 3" tubular steel and make my own ultimate frame. I don't remember the specifics now but I was on the phone with SL and specifically asked them if my Aura backplates could handle the A3 panels and I was told they could. When I asked about A1 panels, I was told it would not be a good idea and given a reason why, but I do not remember what it was. Not being a very knowledgeable person when it comes to electrical things in general I didn't pursue it. Give SL a call and ask them directly.
