Question on preamp

Have you tried connecting your CD player direct (without volume pot) to your amps? I run my phono stage straight into my amps sans volume pot.

Less is more.

Try it.

I often wonder why audiphiles worry about where your volume pot is pointing. The less resistance between the source and the amp, the better.
