I have had SL speakers for about 10 years now without any problems. I would suspect that you read about more problems because people post when they have a problem or concern. I have never had a problem and I personally know of a number of SL owners that have not had any problems, but most of us don't "fuss" with our speakers, we listen to them. Good luck getting yours to perform the way I know they can.
