Automatic bias reduction as opposed to autobias should be pretty easy. You use the existing pot to set the bias, and whenever the signal is not present for some period of time, a resistor switches in in parallel or series via a relay or transistor, and the bias is reduced. You may wish to add a switch to defeat the autoreduction when setting the bias with no signal.

An OTL using extremely high voltages that is capable of driving a reactive load is much more difficult.
