Diagnosing your problem via this board is difficult. Before we decide to condemn Krell amplifiers, it is worthwhile to check your BAT for DC on the output. BAT line stages are capacitor-coupled, and a little leakage could cause the output to have a DC bias. I don't know if this would cause your problem, but it might if the Krell is DC-coupled.
