On the Single-Ended Triode side of things, the best combination I've heard is the deHavilland 845 Aries SET monoblocks driving Alon Lotus Elite Signature speakers through Prana Wire Cosmos speaker cables. I heard this in show conditions, so I can't say how far down in SPL the signal remains clean, but the fidelity of reproduction of natural bass instruments recorded in a good acoustic venue was the best I've heard from any system.
