You are Right-On / Right-On.. about A ESL U-1 or any other Full Range ESL!
But the quote came from a person that was asking the ESL Doc. about Bi-Amping Ax2"s.?.Which is a real Two way seperate system...And both sections of that ESL Speaker have built In Hi /Low X-Overs...

Ax2's top end is wonderful,but the Bass response is slow with a tad of mush...I have them...And As I wrote ...
I'm thinking of converting them to Full-Range ESL Interface...And they are.... still better than any other Cone / Box speaker that I'v heard..ShMat Puppy Cha,Cha....

ESL One-Point-Sound-Origin over a Large Region...Is ,to me, one of the most phenomenal abilities that ESL Full-Range Panels have, that no other speaker concept can duplicate !
