If you search below you'll find my comments and many helpful comments on the inefficiency of M-3's. Mine wouldn't put out more than 80-85 dbs. without clipping with a McIntosh amp with 2x350 watts so I tested an Innersound rated at 2x300 and high current output and it did fine. I eventually decided not to keep the SL's due to other problems with them and, I can hear the screams, decided to go with a pair of Magnapan 3.6R's with a ribbon tweeter. Although not quite as detailed as the SL's they're close, have that great planar sound, cost far less, and will produce 90db +/- (loud) on less than 50 watts/channel.
