You actually already have a spare amp to test out whether the amp or the speaker is at fault... if there is a problem with the Krell driving SoundLab speakers in general then both channels should fail after a while. I don't personally know the Krell FPB 700cx, but I would imagine that they are built in true mono format (separate power supplies, etc.).

Keep running the one good channel of your amp, playing the same kind of music at the same level as before, but driving the speaker that didn't cause the other channel to fail. If this channel of the amp fails then the only reason could be that the Krell is not up to driving the speakers. If the amp continues to work then switch the speakers. If the amp now fails, then you have a problem with that particular SoundLab speaker. If the amp doesn't fail then you have a Krell manufacturing problem with the one channel of your amp.
