I really believe in Audio Magazines Reviews & Test Results...
Oh Yea, I read between the lines of the hipped-advertising praise,.....And after all is said and done the reviewers still get the real message across of what the Product Really did on the bench tests & what it truly sounded like!....
And come to think back...Watt Puppy did have the typical small enclosure bass bump....But after I saw the 12 khz tweeter ring...I knew this speaker at any price would fatigue my ears..
I think they would astound me at first in the Boutique Hi-Fi Show Room...but as ya say at home a different story...
Weren't they, or still are kind'a, A-California-Yuppie-Movie-Crowd-Trendy-Thing...
Alright on piano....In Studio Record Mixing it was typical to put a + boost in the upper treble region to brighten most dull pianos & almost all ways never get enough top-end + boost on a Snare Drums...[Analog mixing days]
So your Watt-Puppies would enhance Piano & drums analog recordings...
But who wants a speaker as an EQUALIZER...Give Me TRUTH Give Me: Sound Lab ESL....
The most popular Microphone ever sold has been & still is, The Shure SM 58....It never pretended to be flat or an accurate microphone..
The Secret of it's top sales, 5 decade success: Total bullet-proof durability & Pronounced Voice EQ was built right in to the curve...
Equalized products sell, but the SM 58 is really only good for voice at close up use...
I think Wilson could tame that RINGING TANIULM DOME DIAPHRAGM if they wanted to ,but it sells...Turn the treble up please....
Oh I forgot...We don't get TONE CONTROLS anymore...And if you do have them,... they better be at 12:NOON if your audiophile friends mosey by !....Cha,Cha
