Terry,

Those seen in the Audiogon image of my room are copies of early RPG diffusers that were (originally) constructed from wood. The ones I own are locally manufactured reproductions, made by hot wire cutting blocks of 4 X 8 foot rigid Styrofoam. They were available in four and eight inch depth, the deeper model having slightly better diffusion in the lower frequencies.

These copies offer the similar acoustic properties as the original RPG diffuser, but slightly softer top end than that presented by the hard wood structure.

The final touch in my room (not shown in image) was to cover the walls and the treatment areas behind the Soundlabs with acoustically transparent cloth. The room appears to have zero treatment and is cosmetically more elegant than the original space featured in the link here at SLOG.
