Completely new cores, newly manufactured.
This is the third pair in the last two years, and will be combined with the latest back plates, which were newly constructed about six weeks ago.
This newest pair of back plates replaced the originals. The originals had been upgraded to latest versions with choke and voltage multiplier mod's, and both versions overpowered my cores, even with the newest insulation for the stators.
I am listening to a pair of ProAc Future Ones that were sent to me for review. Lucky because the Soundlabs have been down for about two months.
The U-1 has a completely grounded frame, so any corona effect of the new high voltage multiplier encourages the stators and insulation to leak across, ruining the panel. This appears to be an issue exclusive to the U-1 and latest voltage multiplier.
I think we have a solution worked out, I have been communicating with Soundlab for three months with ideas for a permanent fix. All the upgrades to my system have been accomplished by me. The usual deal is to ship parts via Delta Airlines Air Cargo and I do the labor.
There is talk about Brent and Roger coming here this next time for a personal install. I would love to have them as company and listen to some music together, but I would not say it's a concrete plan.
For certain, both Jim White of Aesthetix and Garth Leerer of Musical Surroundings are both visiting me this month. I still don't know if Loyd Walker is still coming or not.
