I got the impression from examining the silk, which my friend is using to drape over his bare Acoustats, that indeed it is even more sheer than Spandex. As far as WAF goes, my dear wife has tolerated far more outlandish audio systems than that represented by a pair of M1s and a pair of monoblock tube amps. In fact, I probably care more about the esthetics than she does. My M1s have the optional oak frames (actually, the same wood that is painted black on the standard M1, only in this case it is stained to resemble red oak, IMO). The combo of oak with the black Spandex is actually quite nice. Nothing could make an M1/A1/U1 unobtrusive.
