I too am lucky enough to have a set of Roy's creations. I had been using the big 280W Vishay/Sfernice wirewound resistors, and the improvement afforded by Roy's Super Resistors is greater than when I upgraded to the Vishays.
I had been using four 8 ohm sandcast resistors in series/parallel in my A-3's, and they would get fairly warm during a listening session. Before I changed out the stock 5 ohm resistors I was running with one resistor removed to give 7.5 ohms, and the stock board was actually burned under the single resistor that was carrying 2/3 of the total power.
With the Vishays I could detect only a very slight warming after a long listening session, but as far as I can tell the temperature of Roy's resistors remains unchanged no matter how much I crank my Wolcotts. Incidentally I have measured peaks of 60V across these resistors, which corresponds to a peak instantaneous power of 450W!
The sound is now so much more articulate and coherent that I could never go back to the stock resistors.
