Hi, all. Last night I finally got into the backplates, and found a surprise...one of the (6) 8uf Rel-Caps (marked "Sound Lab"!)was disconnected at one of its lead inputs, so it's replacement or upgrade. I know some folks have used Jensen PIO, but $$$$... anybody tried some of the North Creek bypassing configurations?

I am a bit puzzled as to the effects of the breakage, but given that the caps are wired in parallel the speakers would continue to play. I did notice that the gain level on that speaker was noticeably lower than the other, even with elevated bias control.

Second, a few minutes of careful soldering was all that was required to install jumpers to bypass the brilliance pot (which I had run at max per recommendations) and the bass transformer lead jumpers (now permanently affixed at the lowest level). They were working well this way with the pot and the jumpers in my room, and I am looking forward to hearing the effects of the change.

Third...those resistors. I've been in touch with Roy and am salivating at his fabulous work. Impressions?

Happy listening,

Mark
