Thanks for the responses. The speaker I'm using is a relatively new M3. So, to paraphrase both Lew's and Austin's responses and ask a couple of additional questions:

1. The Brilliance control attenuates the HF Panels. Is this an L-pad or a series pot?

2. The Mid control changes the corner frequency of the low pass crossover to the bass panels by selecting one of several series inductors. No other components are changed by the position of the selector other than the series inductors?

3. The Bass control changes the taps on the bass transformer. Am I correct in assuming that this affects the speaker’s impedance over the range of the bass panels?

It would seem that it's a little counter-productive (phase response wise) to use all of the passive components to divide up the frequency spectrum like this. I wonder what the most phase coherent settings are?
