Lew, Superior Electric is a manufacturer of connectors such as five way binding posts, which happen to look identical to the cheap clones out there, but they don't sound anything like the imitations. Cardas and Edison Price are two of the more popular brands among audiophiles, but that's as far as it goes. Edison Price are soft and not durable, as you suggest. Other than for durability, massive binding posts most often are considered to sound nowhere near as good as lighter ones, as is also true of spades and RCA plugs, for instance.
Superior Electric posts are available from suppliers such as Allied Electronics. The dual posts, part no. (I think) 2BR-30 are Allied stock no. 645-9990 and run about $24 a set, far too cheap to sound any good ;-) Parasound uses them on the JC-1 monoblock amps intentionally.
