My guess is that the low end (and maybe the rest of the range) on the U2s might be just a tad better than on the M3s due to the stiffer frame on the U2s; but if it's really only a slight difference between the M3s and the M2s, the smaller size of the M3s will be a worthwhile trade-off given my room size limitation. I'm hoping (and betting) you're right that the major difference between the 3s and the larger models is the size of the sound stage.

This is a great user group - lots of passionate, knowlegeable, helpful, and friendly folks. I hope I can contribute based on some direct SL experience one of these days.

Anyone have any idea how many pairs of SLs speakers have been produced over the years? Just curious as to how many owners might be out there.
