"Pinpoint" imaging is an artifact of stereophonic reproduction. Some people dislike it
because it is patently artificial and distracts from the recreation of the musical event. It
responds to refinement in system setup, so it becomes an idol for frustrated tweakers. My
view is that achieving perfection in it requires too many compromises in timbre accuracy,
but then I haven't heard all the dynamic speakers in the world, so maybe there is one that
manages to do both. Vandersteens and horns need not apply.
