I have had the new panels now for a couple of weeks... Breaking in nicely. What a gorgeous sound. The first thing is how unbelievably more efficient they are. At first I drove them with a pair of Bryston 120 watt mono's. Not a behemoth to be sure. Sounds GREAT I thought, but that's impossible. After a while, on go the Wolcott's... Oh My God! Soundstage as big as it ever got before, but the dial was barely cranked up..... Efficient. I am listening to Decca (SXL 6179 Viotti Violin Concerto No. 3) Stunning sonics. Trumpets sound like their right here in front of me if only I could reach out and touch it... Huge soundstage. It's like the first time all over again with my SL speakers. It's like taking everything SL speakers do well and multiplying it by five or six or even seven for UMA/1's! What Roger has done with this new design, well it exceeds my wildest (almost) expectations!
I thought a dialogue about the new panels might be interesting. Any other Slogers get new panels yet?? Are the new panels the "Finest Speaker in the World"? They might be:-)!
