For what it's worth my experience with a dipolar Sunfire subwoofer has been pretty mediocre. I am using a Tact 2.2X which actually time aligns the signals and integrates them seamlessly in the frequency domain. Still, the dynamic subwoofer is no match for the ESL's speed and the transition is no smooth. I much prefer to listen to the M-1s with no sub. Some have criticized the Sunfire's performance so there may be faster woofers out there. But the Sunfire was fine when I used dynamic speakers. In my room the M-1 rolls off steeply below 30 Hz but is virtually flat up to that point. One day perhaps I will add a B-1, although I don't know how much lower it can go.
