The discussion was centered around whether to improve ESL Speaker Room Sound By Reducing Room Reflection or just ADD on some Electronic Tuning suck out...?
And my point was: Balance the room first...Then if you must..... tame remaining Rings...
The other point I was trying to bring to light was :
Until now ,We have never had a Speaker that is Truly One-Point-Sound-Origin.!
No Time Delay,No Soundstage shift movement from Tweeter to Woofer...All in one 28 Hz-50khz.. 6' Driver..
The Sound Lab Full-Range ESL Panels are capable of presenting a True-One-Point-Sound-Coherent-Origin [A very large... One Point]
So, If the Back Wave is bounced around the room freely with no room damping.?
And you add Electronic Room Tuning...At the point of Room Resonant Modes The ESL becomes A Reflected... OMNI-POLE..... But only at Room Ring Modes...
As opposed to damping the room back Wave and enjoying : MONO-POLE .. One-Point-Sound-Origin...From the front...At all frequencies at all times...
In other words: The Room-Rings Electronic Reduction Tuning... Will be reduced level from both the Front ESL Wave..As well as from The Back Wave... Letting the room rings ...Dominate Focus...
And shifting ONE POINT SOUND ORIGIN.... AWAY FROM CENTER FRONT ESL.. Orgin..
At points of Room-Ring-Mode...The Front ESL Radiation loses One-Point-Orgin-Focus..
Shifting from center to outer general room...
Electronic Tinning has to mess with Sound-Stage...
A very subtle point,but a real one to consider....
