The "correct" setting of the bias supply voltage can vary from day to day or certainly week to
week, depending on the season of the year, air conditioning vs heat, etc. The best advice is to
set the bias to whatever setting is max without inducing crackling or the white noise you have
mentioned. Then allow the panel to equilibrate for several hours or days. During the "two or
three weeks" of use you mention, the conditions in your room may have changed, resulting in
excessive bias voltage for the humidity conditions. This would indicate you need to re-set the
bias to eliminate the white noise. If the efficiency appears to go down significantly as a result,
that may indicate you need to wait longer for your panels to break in sufficiently. In other words,
it may be premature to judge their efficiency relative to your earlier experience.
