cleaning/vacuuming

How often does everyone clean/vacuum their speakers? I started thinking about this as I noticed a comment made a few days back about unplugging the bias for 12 hours before vacuuming the speakers. Nobody cleans my SL except me and I have had SL speakers for about the last 12 years. I have always vacuumed them using a brush attachment several times a month and have never bothered to unplug or do anything special. I do this as I live out in the Sierra foothills and it can be quite dusty which tends to show on black spandex. I have never experienced any problems. Just curious what others do.
