I've been wanting to try SoundLabs for many years, but have waited for various reasons. I've had Acoustats (Monitor 3 and Spectra 3) and still have Quad ESL63s. I've had Apogee Studio Grands, Infinity Betas, Klipschorns, B&W 801s, Dahlquist DQ-10s, and others. My current Magnepan MG20.1s are wonderful, but after listening to my Stax Signature electrostatic headphones recently I felt I still missed that final degree of resolution which I hope SoundLab ESLs will provide.
Yes, I'm one of those guys who is never satisfied for long, but I hope to find a loudspeaker / room combination with real staying power (doubtful, huh.) I wrote to SoundLab and Dr. West said he had a brand new demonstration pair of mahogany A-1s fully loaded with all the extras (I don't think a mass-loaded pair of of U-1s with spikes would like my wood floors.)
Anyway, they should be on their way. Any suggestions for a SoundLab rookie?
Thanks ..... Gary
