Panel noise and grill cloth question

First, I am getting some crackling noise in one section of an Aura panel on passages with substantial bass information.Doesn't seem to be a tear in the film. Could the film have worked loose from the support in a particular section and could this cause the noise?

Second, I have a dedicated listening room separate from any other part of the house. I thought about removing the grill cloth permanently. Other than shock hazard is there any reason not to do this?
