I am contemplating Sound Labs and I have a bunch of questions.First, are there any sonic differences between the A1s and M1s? I know they are supposed to be the same but you never know(differences in stiffness, diffraction etc?).How much of a difference does the new impedance smoothing network make? I have a pair of Atmasphere MA1Mk2s and was wondering how good a job these would do driving the speakers both with and without this new network? I am looking at a 12 year old pair of A1s that were re-mylared(new thinner mylar) 4 years ago when they also got toroidal transformers. These have the wooden inner cores.Would there be much of a sonic difference between these and the new production( which I guess has new stator insulation, higher bias voltage, plastic frame etc)?It almost seems that the wood will do a better job of damping. I'm not sure what other differences? Any other input on new vs old with 4 year old rebuild?I currently am listening to Quad 989s with Definitive SuperCube subs(they blend great). I enjoy the Quads very much and wonder how listeners would describe the differences? I do listen nearfield although I have quite a large room.I listen to mainly jazz.Any other comments or input? Thanks, Sandy
