As you seem to know, the 1W/1m sensitivity for a huge planar spkr like the M1 is not very meaningful, nor can it be compared to that for a conventional dynamic spkr. And the reason that the factory is reluctant to give out the information is probably due to the fact that the number would be lower than 88db, would be taken as gospel by the majority who don't know or care about the technical problems related to making such a determination for a planar spkr, and would be used by the un-washed to make the case that the M1 is woefully inefficient. This is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, dollar values in all of audio, ever, and its reputation ought to be protected.
