Greg, for that size room my choice would be the M2. It has bass response and efficiency levels very near the M1 which is preferable for your M60. You could guarantee a great match with the MA1, but I would take your M60 and Soundlab A2 over Atmasphere MA1 and any other brand of speaker made.
The controls on all the latest Soundlabs offer a great deal of adjustment, allowing you to adjust for room acoustics should you require it.
As for placement, If possible put the speakers on the 12'6' wall about four feet out. Then you can try near field listening, or move almost to the rear of the 14' wall. I honestly have not set up Soundlabs in a room the size of yours. Perhaps another SLOG poster has direct experience on this and can help.
