Neal. You prompted me to inquire into the possibility of air core inductors. The 15 MH required for my Soundlabs are not listed in my aftermarket parts books. The Alpha Core brand (supposed to be very good) go up to 6.80 MH, but are about 6 inches in diameter. A 15 MH (if manufactured) would require space nearly equal to the entire Soundlab back plate. Certainly possible, but probably why no one has suggested I go for it.
Still would like input from you if you have experimented with parts upgrades, especially if you know of another air core inductor that is more compact.
