I recently auditioned the Eros. Above 500 Hz or so, they sounded great. However, I did not like the integration between dynamic woofers and electrostatic panels. The upper octaves sounded clean and fast; the bass sounded muddy and slow.
As they have been raved about by several respected reviewers, it's entirely possible they can sound better under the right conditions and with careful setup. However, I doubt they would ever sound as "of a piece" as a full-range planar speaker.
