My system:
Cary SLP-98
McCormack DNA 1 dlx monoblocks
Soundlab M3's
Am giving serious thought to replacing the McCormacks with tubes. Looking for
suggestions of amps to look at.
Have been very pleased with the DNAs. For what they are, they are tough to beat. But it's time to move on.
I'd like to find something which handles highs better....a less lean bass, a bit more air and bloom. At least as good and preferably better soundstage
than the DNAs. Yes, the DNAs are awfully good in most of these areas already...but, it's time to move up, I think.
Have been thinking about Cary V12i monos....but have recently changed my mind about Cary.
Have also thought about Wolcotts. Hear lots of good things...but I wonder how hard eight EL34s have to be driven to get 220W out.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
.....sT
