The M-1/MA-2 system at the San Remo sounded very diffuse to me and didn't image well. Part of the problem was the way they were positioned, aimed toward the doorway at the left rear where you entered the room - not Sound Lab's choice. Another problem was the lack of tiptoes, spikes or cones under the speakers, which instead were resting on the carpet.

I understand Al's comment about the brilliance control settings in the Parasound system, a significant reason why the sound was bright. With them set closer to the suggested factory default position while driving them with the JC 1 amplifiers (that's the way I've listened to them), the problem doesn't exist, and in my biased opinion the sound is better focused than with the MA-2s which are excellent in their own right.
