The Caddocks are metal film types (also called metal oxide or MOX)which have a ceramic core with the resist (usually nickel chromium = "nichrome") deposited over it. One benefit they have over wire wound types is they are non-inductive (but at audio frequencies this is usually not a problem). They should not exhibit magnetic attraction.
