Al, Dr. West is a fine and honorable gentleman, and I love his speakers, but SLOG is not an official house organ for Sound Labs, and I don't think we will hear from Dr. West any time soon. I think you are correct if you intimate that we don't need any more rumors and innuendos, but I for one would like to learn the facts according to the factory. Those of us on SLOG who have spoken directly to the factory on any of these issues could relay the information through this forum. For example, I would really like to know more about the question of "porous mylar" as raised by Roy S. If this has been a problem, when was it a problem and to what production speakers does it apply? Also, does all the mylar used since all SL speakers were upgraded with the new lighter weight mylar (about 4-5 years ago) have this problem, again assuming there is any problem at all? Thankfully, my M1s are doing just fine.
