You are thinking of Beveridge loudspeakers. The Beveridge Model 2 has essentially 180 degree
dispersion. You can hear an awesome sound-stage anywhere in front of the speakers, or you
can place them facing each other and standing against the side walls, and hear the same.

The SoundLab sweet spot is fairly wide and forgiving, but it does exist.
