estimate was more of a thumbnail impression, rather than the result of a formal measurement. I
agree that any improvement at the listening position would likely be more on the order of 1 or
2db, at the higher end of that range perhaps in a very damped listening environment, lower in a
reflective, "live" room. My only reason for posing the question is to clarify the issue for newbies,
who might make a buying decision based on perhaps inaccurate information. In my room, I
always felt that the 90 degree arc might be too much of a good thing, so I too am intrigued by
the new shape.
It would also be good to know whether SL have changed to a different mylar or a different way of
stretching and framing the mylar so as to avoid stresses that result in torn diaphragms. I think I
read about this somewhere.
