The more I look at the 3-6dB increase the more I feel uncomfortable about it. 6dB is a truly massive increase.
As Lew has mentioned, a newbie may make a buying decision based on this information. I notice you have qualified the extra 3-6dB as “apparent”.

Do you think that some measurements could be published that have been taken in something close to an average listening room. if there is a problem with what an average listening room is then just state the basics of the room shape and surfaces when publishing the data. New buyers or up-graders would have a firm footing to work from then.
