I had a similar experience with what you describe as 'water dripping' for a year in one of my A-1s before it started reproducing a less loud sound.My other A-1 was OK. With the instructions of Dr. West I had replaced amps, backplates in order to be absolutely sure that the problem was with the specific panel and not with the backplate. Only then I sent the bad panel from Greece to Utah.
However as both your speakers have the same problem you can't do what I did then. However, before you send them back ask a technician (if possible)to check if the bias controls have the problem, which means they can be very easily replaced at a very low cost. You only have to pay the technician as Dr. West, I am sure, he will send you new bias controls.
