A balanced line with no shield?....Is there a thrird wire for chassis ground...? It seems to me that if the Pre-amp can sustain a 600 ohm load?.[60 Ohms or less]..It could also handel a few puffs of line cable shield capacitance... Is the cable a twised pair?

Also....If the pre-amp output can handel a 600 ohm load ? Wouldn't that mean that it's output impedance is so low that the need to terminate for stray EMF is unnecessary..? The low output impedance of the Pre has already set a very low tolal line impedance...?
