Lew, I am pretty sure that Southern Electronics only go up to 1uF now. I did ask at the time about the 5uF but they said that the Polystyrene film was all used up.
Before the current 24uF value I was running with 48uF (the old value) add to that another 12 uF, you may remember that I was trying to loose my midrange s u c k-out. Now that took me up to 60uF at the time, a total of 3 capacitor bricks. I reckon I could squeeze about 8 capacitor bricks and the mother in law into the bottom of an A3 base and still have room to spare.
The cable I use is Kimber Teflon coated copper.
BTW, I just had the devil of a job trying to post this. The automatic word checking software that checks for swear words would not accept the word s u c k-out as a joined up word. What a laugh, it has taken me ages to work out a way of making this post. Hopefully that word can be removed from the exclude dictionary as for us it has a totally different meaning.
