In addition to acoustic feedback, I've found that the powered sub interacts with the bass amp (in my bi-amp setup) through the power circuit.

We just had the house wiring updated to accommodate a new central air conditioning installation, and I had two more dedicated circuits added to the audio system. We are now up to four separate dedicated 20-amp circuits!

Separating the bass amp from the REL Stentor II subwoofer by providing a separate circuit for each removed the last vestiges of interaction that muddied the bass. I expected this, but was surprised by how much more natural acoustic ambience this change provides, even around treble instruments, on well-made recordings.

The additional cost of adding circuits, if you are having other work done, is around $USD150 in circumstances similar to mine. This is very cheap relative to the improvement it makes, and should be considered by anyone willing to pay ten times as much or more for subs, power conditioners, fancy power cords, and the like.
